The Third of May 1808 This is my first trip to Spain. Joanna was here back in the 70's when Franco was still around. A lot has changed! I know most Italian painters pretty well but know very little of Spanish artists. To remedy that we spent a day at the Prado in Madrid - home to paintings by Goya, Velázquez and El Greco among others. I was happy to see a group of 10 year olds who, along with me, were learning about art, history, and art history all at the same time. |
