From Shekhawati south to Bundi This is the town where Kipling sat down to write Kim. The Bundi Palace was shut up and left to the bats for years, as happened to many of the maharaja's palaces once the British were ousted. It has only recently been cleaned up and opened to the public as a museum. This one dates back to the early 17th century. There are beautiful 'miniatures' inside. |
