A gateway to one of the inner courtyards of the Temple of Literature in Hanoi, Vietnam's first university, founded in 1070 to educate the elite. It was dedicated to Confucius.

It's now a well-restored and manicured tourist attraction. The university was moved south to Hué around 1800.
