We took a 45 minute flight north of HCMC to the central highlands of Vietnam where the weather is always cool and windy.

We started in Dalat, the capital of Lam Dong Province and about 1500 meters above sea level. Later we moved farther north to Buon Ma Thout, the capital of Dak Lak Province. Both these provinces are home to ethnic minorities, among them the Laks, the Edes, the M'nong and the Laos.

The photo is of highland rice paddies, most of the rice in Vietnam, however, is grown in the Mekong and Red River deltas to the south and north respectively.
