If the British left nothing else behind in colonial Asia they would yet be remembered for their railroads. The fact that they're still running is in itself a miracle.

This is the Yangon 'Circle Line'. For under $1 you can enjoy (if that's the right word) a slow, wobbly, bone jarring 3 hour trip around the city and the immediate suburbs. There are stretches where you'd be able to jump out and jog alongside.

It's basically a commuter line and it's SRO at rush hour but weekends you can easily find a seat. Almost all passengers are Burmese and they seem bemused that foreigners actually seek out this ride.
