Every winter countless Monarch butterflies (Danaus plexippus) travel thousands of miles from the US and Canada to the Sierra Madre mountains of Michoacan Mexico to mingle and mate. We felt the least we could do was to drive south with good friends to ride horses and hike up a thousand meters to say hello.
