In every town in Mexico and in most of Latin America and in Hispanic neighborhoods in the US you will find shops called botánicas. They sell a lot of weird stuff including folk medicine, candles, statues, amulets, oils, incense, magical sprays and more.

They also sell items more associated with the Roman Catholic Church such as rosary beads, holy water and images of saints. What is this stuff supposed to do? Whatever you want them to is my guess.
