A procession across town on Calle 59 from the Puerto del Mar to the Puerto de la Tierra - the Sea Gate to the Land Gate - followed as the sky lightened.

Campeche Centro is not very big so the walk took only a few minutes. The gathering then went to the zocalo for invocations of the mystical powers of the four cardinal directions. There were other shaman-esque New Age ceremonies going on throughout the day as well. But in the end it was just another turn of a calendar page.
