And although the outlook wasn't brilliant for the Campeche Piratas that night they did put up a good fight against the Minatitlán Petroleros - but alas they lost 5-1. Our Brit friends Deb and Malcolm picked up tickets for field level behind home plate - 150 pesos ($12). I pointed out that these same seats now go for over $400 at Yankee Stadium. (It was also nice not to have to fork over a day's salary for a bottle of beer.) Minor League Beisbol is very popular here and all large cities have good stadiums - there were well over a thousand patrons at this game. And in the land of habañeros - snacks are always enhanced with a touch of salsa. |
