One morning I heard dogs barking outside. Someone had left a goat tied up across the street. I found the owner and told him his goat, which in Lao is called Baa-ah, was welcome to graze in our yard.

A win-win situation as I saw it. Of course we were hoping for a bit of chévre - but soon after she moved in, we moved out.
