Beware of Chinese bearing gifts.

This is the Laotian Cultural Center in downtown Vientiane, built by the Chinese as a gift to Laos. I'm not a big fan of what I've begun to call "Sino-Behemoth" architecture.

I haven't been inside, but JoJo reports that it's cold, bats fly around the upper reaches of the theater area and the acoustics as abysmal.
