Show me a religion, and I'll show you a lot of rules. Things you must do. Things you can't do. Hinduism is no exception. In fact I'm mystified as to how devotees can keep track of them all.

Here might be a good place to mention Bahasa Indonesia - the language that endeavours to unify this extensive country. It's got the Latin alphabet and it's not encumbered with tones or inflections and it's pretty much phonetic. We try to learn a bit every day, but so many here in Bali speak English that we tend to be remiss in our studies.
