The Ambassador - the wheels of India. A legend in its own time. This car was first introduced here in 1948. The original design was based on the Morris Oxford. Hindustan Motors started making them in 1957 in a factory just outside Calcutta and they've been churning them out with little change ever since.

They're simple, dependable, roomy, economical, ubiquitous, relatively inexpensive and cute. What more could you ask for?
