How would you like a hand-spun, hand-woven, hand-dyed, cotton shirt for less than five bucks? Visit a Khadi shop. You'll find one in every major city in India. They were set up years ago and they're based on Ghandi's principles of commerce. Aside from shirts, you can find an ample supply of sarees and dhotis. A dhoti is that plain white garb you always saw the Mahatma wrapped in during WWII while he spun cotton and waited for war to end and Independence to begin. |
