The latecomers to the opulent burial scene were the workers and artisans who actually created and decorated the tombs of the pharaohs and nobles. This is what remains of the houses where they lived and worked. It's not far from the Valley of the Kings. At some point it must have occurred to them that they should use their skills and talent to make beautiful tombs for themselves. Why not? And so they did. And they are indeed beautiful.
