The Chinese and Vietnamese have had a love/hate relationship for over a millennium. Ho Chi Minh City's Chinatown is called Cho Lon. It takes up all of Quan 5 - a district just west of downtown. The Pagodas are islands of relative calm in this, shall we say, energetic city. What is a Pagoda? I’ll let the brochure of the Phuoc An Hoi Quan Pagoda speak for itself:
