It's only 30 km long and at its narrowest there's only 700 meters separating Europe and Asia, but the Bosphorus, for its slight size has always been one of the most important waterways in the world.

The city of Istanbul has all but subsumed its banks on both sides. You can take a 4 hour roundtrip cruise and see the beautiful towns and villages along the way as you dodge tankers bringing Russian oil to Europe from their port on the Black Sea.
