"Sorry, no bullfights until August" was what the woman at the information office in Málaga told us. And at the risk of upsetting animal rights groups I have to say I was disappointed.

Bullfights are the last of the 'fight to the finish' sports (ice hockey takes a close 2nd). But it is a sport. And it's not just about kicking a ball into someone else's net or bouncing one through a hoop - this is a struggle between man and beast and one of them is going to die. It's most often -but not always- the beast.
