But the real center for wines in this area is the small town of Jerez de la Frontera not far inland from Cádiz. It's home to many sherry producers. In fact the word sherry is an anglicization of the town's name - Jerez. And if it doesn't come from this area it can't be called sherry. These casks, made from American oak, hold about 500 liters.
