What part of Europe has the warmest winter climate? That's what we googled a few months back to figure out where to go for January & February. The answer: Southern Spain.

We found a house for rent in the village of Cútar in Andalucía not far from the coastal city of Málaga - part of the Costa del Sol.

The area is speckled with scores of white-washed villages spilling down the mountainsides where grapes, olives, almonds, lemons, oranges, avocados - and yes, even mangos - grow in abundance.
