Often in my travels I look out the window of a bus or train and watch people going about their daily lives. Like a snapshot I catch a glimpse of their world.

What I will remember most of our 10 week trip to Burma is the people. Their generosity, their hospitality, their warmth, honesty, curiosity, their enduring patience despite infernal traffic, power outages and lousy internet; their ability to retain a smile despite decades of bonehead military rule and the hardships it's brought them.

On the 26th of December 2014 at 2:11 PM this young girl tugged at my shirt and asked me to take a snapshot of her. I did. I showed it to her. She smiled in approval and we parted.
