Bonampak, which means "Painted Wall" in Modern Maya, is about 30km south of Yaxchilan. It's on the border with Guatemala. It's most famous for its murals, like the one on the right, which depict one single, victorious battle. Most of the buildings here date back to the Early Classic period, 580 to 800 AD).
