2006 is an election year in Mexico. The current president, Vincente Fox, will be replaced after serving his allotted 6 year term. There are 3 major candidates in contention.

Felipe Calderón of the Partido Acción Nacional, PAN. This is Fox's party.

Roberto Madrazo Pintado of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional, PRI. This party ruled Mexico for most of the 20th century.

Andrés Manuel López Obrador of the Partido de la Revolución Democrática, PRD. Obrador, pictured here, is the favorite so far, but election day is July 2 - and anything can happen in the interim.
