Processing, dying and weaving wool is what people in the village of Teotitlan del Valle do. And they've been doing it since pre-Hispanic times. I think every house in town has a loom.

All of the dyes used in this work are natural but the red color is the most famous. It comes from cochineal, an insect that lives on the nopal cactus.
