We were taking the bus for a trip to Tlacotalpan where we lived for a year from 2005 to 2006. Tlacotalpan is a sleepy, colorful hamlet in the wetlands south of the city of Veracruz. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a population of about 8,500. Cattle, fish and sugarcane are what keep the local economy going. |
