There are no records or remains of wagons, carts, coaches - not even a wheelbarrow - from ancient Meso-America. But there were wheeled toys.

At first thought that seems strange. But the fact is, there were no dray animals in the Americas before the arrival of the Spanish who introduced horses, oxen and donkeys to the New World - and with them, the idea that wheels could be used in other ways.
