In the Mayan heyday Yucatan cities were more densely populated than Los Angeles today. They used slash & burn farming techniques - unsustainable. They depended entirely on stored rainwater - even short periods of drought were devastating. And evidence shows enough internecine fighting to make the War of the Roses look like a family picnic.

So for my money the answer is "e".
