"The Empire Builder" skirts just south of the Canadian border across Washington, Idaho, Montana and North Dakota. It then cuts south through Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois.

By far the most spectacular scenery is Glacier National Park in Montana which we went through in the early morning of our second day.
