Luckily for us our friends Michael Tucker & Jill Eikenberry had just left for Italy and offered us their place on West 83rd Street - shelter from the storm. We didn't have much to complain about. A few downed branches but electricity, internet, TV and telephone never failed.

"Hey, this isn't so bad" we thought until we turned on the TV and saw other parts of the city under meters of water. Manhattan below 34th Street was renamed SoPo - South of Power. Electricity was out for days there.
