At the northern edge of Campeche's malecon there are a row of palapas where the food is good, the price is low and the sea breeze is sublime.

The malecon or "boardwalk" is more than 8 km long and stretches the entire length of the waterfront of Campeche. There are paths for runners, for cyclists and for just plain old pedestrians out for a sunset stroll.

Entertainment is provided by pelicans who crash dive into the water to catch fish for their own dinner.
