Vientiane, like all cities, is really a series of villages strung together. It is also crisscrossed by rivulets and canals that swell during the rainy season.

Fisherman set up these little piers to ply their trade either for their own families or to make a few extra bucks. I don't think they're catching anything as big as tilapia here.
