Vientiane's riverfront is getting a makeover. Actually, it's more than that. The city is being extended out into the Mekong basin by about 100 meters.

The plan calls for roads, luxury hotels, restaurants and parks to extend for a few kilometers along the waterfront. The Koreans are footing the bill for this project. It's supposed to be open by the fall.
