There are no street addresses in Laos. This isn't as big a problem as you might imagine because there's no postal delivery service either.

Whenever someone throws a party, as we did for Valentine's Day, a map is usually attached to the invitation. This is the map to our house in case any of you would like to make a surprise call on us.
