This is the Bangkok home of Jim Thompson, an American architect who first came to Thailand at the end of WWII as an officer of the OSS - a forerunner to the CIA. After the war he remained in Thailand and was dedicated to revitalizing a cottage industry of hand-woven Thai silk. He also collected Thai antiques and built this beautiful place to accommodate his collection. The house is made of teak and parts were brought to Bangkok from other towns and reconstructed here.
