Part of this rebirth includes large investments from India, China, and the Middle East. In Colombo, the capital, you're never far from a building site. Let's hope development will not be lopsided: high-rises going up, but without the infrastructure to support them; or a larger percentage of capital going to well-to-do cities and coastal resorts while poorer areas of the country are short-changed.
