The nets go out by boat early in the morning. They drop them a couple of kilometers out at sea. Later in the morning they are hauled in by hand - it takes hours. The fish are then sorted, put on ice and trucked to other parts of the island. This scene, which happens every day, is in Arugam Bay in southeastern Sri Lanka. Also a good spot for surfing, they tell me.
