We have about 30 olive trees in our yard and our next door neighbors, Barbara and Sergio (on the rt), have another 50. We combined our harvest and ended up with a total of 438 kilos of olives. That's about a half ton (US). The frantoii are running full steam at this time of year. Sergio managed to get a slot in the pre-dawn hours. How much oil do you get from these olives? This year our yield was 12.8 kilos of oil for every 100 kilos of olives. That translates into 62 liters. |
