In Ravenna they believe that Cole Porter on a visit to the tomb of Galla Placidia - another major figure in the 5th century - was inspired to write Night and Day. Which makes it one of 3 places that lay claim to this song's origin. The others being Morocco and Cleveland. I put my money on Morocco - I'll bet he was inspired by the song of a muezzin atop a minaret calling one and all to prayer - as he does, day and night.
