Italians love to get dressed up in Medieval garb. It's hard to tell who is more into it - the kids or the adults. Joanna and I have seen and even participated in costume parades over the years.

Villages like ours that harken back to medieval and renaissance times seem particularly interested in celebrating their history in this way.

The day involves costumes, parades, contests and of course food and wine - because nothing in Italy happens without those two ingredients.
