There is no electricity at the house except that provided by a few solar panels connected to batteries. Cooking is done either on the wood-burning stove or the propane-fueled double burner that JoJo's working on.

There's also a fireplace in every room. Roughing it on a grand scale. I only wish internet could provide scent detectors so you could inhale the fragrance of the masala in the pan.
