La Boca is a southeastern barrio of Buenos Aires at the boca, or mouth, of the Riachuelo river. It's a largely working class neighborhood and as colorful and beautiful as it is, tourists are warned not to wander its streets at night.

It was originally settled by Italian immigrants who took up the Genoese style of coloring their wooden and corrugated metal houses with what was left over from painting ships.

La Boca is also home to the soccer team, Boca Juniors, who play at the famous "La Bombonera" stadium.
