We drove east from Lisbon and stopped at the quaint, charming town of Évora, in the Alentejo, about 60 kms (40 mi.) from the Spanish border. It's been around for a while, as this 1st century Roman Temple will attest. And it's a very popular spot in the winter months as it never gets very cold.
