From the Red Sea coast we flew to Cairo - the last stop on our 2-month visit.

First opened in 1902, The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in downtown Cairo has been home to the tens-of-thousands of artefacts discovered in Egypt during the 18^th, 19^th, and 20^th centuries.

But all of these pieces will very soon be on the move to The Grand Egyptian Museum which is scheduled, after many delays, to be opened this fall. This new museum will be located outside the center of town, closer to the pyramids of Giza.
